Data Architect
Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect with a strong background in Data Lake architecture and management and, ideally, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data modelling techniques and be proficient in designing and implementing data models that support our analytics and reporting needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accessibility. As the main priority, migration of the current solution to Fabric and further its development and enhancements in line with client’s business needs and best industrial practices will arise.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data modeling with a focus on Data Lakes or big data technologies
- Strong proficiency in data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, Mega Hopex, or similar) and methodologies (e.g., dimensional modeling, normalization
- Experience with data storage technologies, preferably Azure Data Lake (or Google Cloud Storage, AWS S3, etc.)
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline design
- Strong experience with PySpark, SQL
- Knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases and NoSQL databases
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Upper-intermediate English or higher
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with Fabric
- Experience with building Data Lake solution with Fabric or, preferably, experience with the migration of the complex solution to Fabric
- DP-600 and/or DP-700 certification(-s)
- Experience with cloud-based data solutions, preferably Azure
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience with CI/CD
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data modelling
Responsibilities
- Design and develop data models for our Data Lake environment, ensuring alignment with business requirements and analytical goals
- Work closely with business and technical stakeholders (data engineers, analysts) to understand data requirements and provide support to the mentioned stakeholders regarding data models and related artifacts
- Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management within the Data Lake
- Optimise data models for performance and scalability, ensuring efficient data retrieval and analysis
- Collaborate with data architects to define the overall data architecture and strategy for the Data Lake
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to understand data sources, quality, and relationships
- Create and maintain documentation for data models, data flows, and data dictionaries
- Support data integration, API development, and system architecture
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data modelling and Data Lake solutions
